Blog Showcase!

Another week, another great blog to showcase…the star this week is Credit Withdrawal.  I like this blog because of the intelligence and humour of the author behind the blog.  Randall is a very funny guy and can quote the Simpsons at will – what more do you want?  Well another great thing he does is to put up “de-motivational” posters for every post which are worth checking out by themselves.  Feel free to sign up for his feed.

Some posts I liked:

Weight

181 pounds – I stopped eating too much and went running twice this week.

The rest of the links

Last week in the Globe and Mail there was a question and answer session with one of my favourite journalists, John Heinzl.  He is a very funny guy and a possible dividend addict – check it out and you can see my question.

Squawkfox started a great series on writing a great resume.  I hope I don’t need to revisit these posts anytime soon but it is good to know they are there.

Here are the sections so far:

Gather Little by Little hasn’t had any luck selling his home so he is going to rent it out.  Check out how to sell your home – or not!

Bizarre and sad story of someone who got taken in by the “Nigerian” email scam to the tune of $400k.  The amazing thing is that it wasn’t a one time grab – she sent the money in chunks over 2 years even though her friends, relatives, bank officials and even law enforcement officers told her it was a scam.

Million Dollar Journey has a wealth tip – learn the art of delayed gratification.

Financial Blogger asks is it time to celebrate Yahoo? He’s talking about the departure of Terry Yang.  I’d say it is too late to celebrate – they could have had a good deal months ago which they will never see again.

Frugal Dad wrote about his retirement planning including the use of targeted retirement funds.

PFN and stuff

Preet has a contest to win a gps system.

Money Ning hosted the Carnival of Personal Finance.  He did a great job with the photos.

Clever Dude had a fantastic guest post from someone called “ABC” – helping out a friend in need of investing knowledge.

Blunt Money says that people should worry less about the national economy and more about their personal economy.

The Canadian Capitalist has some ideas for your TFSA.

The Intelligent Speculator thinks Nortel is going to $0.

Investing School explains what is EBITDA? and why it is used.

ABCs of Investing wrote about target retirement funds and investment time horizons.

Carnivals

Carnival of Real Estate was held at Agent Genius.

Carnival of Money Hacks was presented by Moolanomy.
