I don’t know when Buffy would have had the time to scout out the sales necessary to have a new pair of leather pants each week. She’s up all night slaying and at school during the day (when she was in school). Slayers need to sleep (we’ve seen her sleep/dream in many episodes). I haven’t bought women’s leather pants, but I imagine that the good sizes disappear quickly.

My guess is that they never get the Sing-A-Long live again. I imagine there are just too many royalty issues to solve and it’s probably not the highest priority for Whedon and his crew.

Lazy Man – I must interject. Don’t you remember Buffy saying “I’m trembling in my trendy yet affordable boots?” I can almost guarantee you Buffy was a clearance rack girl.

And as for the Buffy Musical – WHEN are they going to let the Sing-A-Long live again!??

I’ve been trying to come up with a good Buffy the Vampire personal finance post for some time. Unfortunately, money isn’t really talked about that much. Also if you look Buffy seemingly has a new color of leather pants each episode – I didn’t realize Joyce made all this money.

Since I couldn’t come up with one post on all the personal finance aspects, I patterned my two year anniversary after the Buffy Musical.

Great post and I love Looby’s comment! I’d forgotten about the “all dead and frugal” thing. And how about Things Are Not Always What They Seem? That’s pretty much par for the course on Buffy where the scary demons pay poker for kittens and the nice little old lady (who eats at the fast food place every day) is actually hiding an (extra) ravenous monster head under her Really Bad Sheitel (wig). Financially, things are not always what they seem either. A layoff may not be the end of the world . On the other hand, maybe all the easy payment options you’ve been signing up for (like call waiting, call display, do not pay until 2010, only 3 payments of 14.99 plus shipping and handling, etc.) have gotten you in way over your head. Take some time to look beyond the obvious and you may be surprised.

Great post, I found the seasons online recently and have been working my way through them again. There was a great quote from the series where she takes the fast food job “But I haven’t spent any money, I’ve been all dead and frugal”
