One of the highlights of President Obama’s recently signed American Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act was the announcement of a $250 stimulus payment to individuals who currently receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security benefits, Veterans benefits or Railroad Retirement benefits.

Who is eligible for the $250 check?
To get the $250 you must meet the following criteria:
- Currently receiving Social Security, SSI payments, Veterans benefits or Railroad Retirement benefits.
- Must have been eligible for benefits at any time in November 2008, December 2008 or January 2009.
- The person receiving the SS or SSI must have an address of record in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam or the Northern Mariana Islands.
When will I get my $250 stimulus money?
The SSA (US Social Security Administration) is going to pay all eligible Social Security and SSI beneficiaries by late May 2009, so you should get your payment by no later than the first week of June 2009. The one-time payment will be a separate payment, which will not be included in your regular monthly benefit payment. You will still get your regular monthly payment amount.
How will I get my $250 payment?
The extra $250 payment will be paid to you in the same method that is currently used to your Social Security or SSI benefit. If you currently receive your regular benefit by check, your one-time payment will be made by check. If you receive a monthly direct deposit or Direct Express® debit card payment, that is how you will receive your one-time payment.
What do I need to do in order to receive the $250.
You don’t have to do anything - if you are eligible then the payment will be made to you automatically.
How do Veterans get their payment?
Veterans who don’t get SS or SSI will get their $250 payment from the Department of Veterans affairs (VA). You don’t need to do anything to get the money.
How do Railroad Retirement beneficiaries get their payment?
Your payment will come from the RRB (Railroad Retirement Board). You don’t have to do anything to get your payment. It will be delivered to you automatically. You can call 1-877-772-5772 (1-877-RRB-5RRB) (TTY 1-312-751-4701) for more information.
If both spouses are on Social Security or SSI – will we both get $250 checks?
Yes, you will. This program is designed to give $250 to each qualified individual. If both partners in a household qualify for the payments then they will each get the $250 payment for a total of $500.
Can I get more than $250 or more than 1 payment?
You can’t get more than $250 even if you receive benefits from more than one plan. Ie if you receive Social Security and Railroad benefits then you won’t be eligible for $500 or 2 payments – just 1 payment of $250.
Some other facts:
The one-time $250 payment will not count as gross income on your federal income tax return.
Disabled children receiving SSI are eligible for the one-time $250 payment.

Isnt it so wonderful that president Obama is going to saddle our future with such a load of money… I wonder wht our future generations are going to think of him…Where do I line up for my BAILOUT check. My insurance company got theirs today and my bank got theirs yesterday when I received my foreclosure papers
My fiance gets ssi and I get ssdi and ssi. What do we have to do to get the stimulus checks and how and when will we be getting them? Will we have to file the tax papers, will they be sent via mail or direct deposit into our bank accounts?

My husband work full time and gets help from medcaid program for medical and I work part-time and i get ssdi. Who will get the check me, or both of us? The last time we received it we couldn’t spend it gas prices were high and other were high. How would we know how much we will be getting? And also wondering about this unearn income tax. We file already and wondering if we will be getting anything back? Thank you.

To answer all I know of the above questions…This check is a ONE TIME and will be sent to you the same way that your current social security payments come. As for the medicaid program, unless he is on social security disability, SSI, vet benefits or railroad benefits, he will NOT get one. You do NOT have to file anything for this, this has nothing to do with income taxes. I’ve heard social security survivors do NOT get the stimulus check. I hope this helped answer some of the above question.

with the rich people who are getting richer should try to live on low income for one day. i have to for the rest of my life. this 250 is already put aside for glasses have not even gotten the check yet but it has been spend. i wish all that bail monies stop today, or yesterday, give the poor more so we can go in the cheap stores and buy our needs. i haven’t had eggs and bacon for such a very long long time. t. from colorado

Don’t you people read..you will ask a question that has just been answered..read the comments before and after to see your answer..jeesh..no wonder we are last in education throughout the world..it’s not hard or difficult..just think logically and thoughtfully then apply what you read with your own dire circumstances..This is why I would love to have my finger on the doomsday button as it is way past time to push that thing.

Gimme my money..that’s all I gots to say ’bout it. If’n Congress can give themselves a raise of $4000 dollars and Federal Judges a raise then why should I feel bad about them giving me a lousy $250 dollars..well my god that will buy me about 5 tanks of gas..or 3 tanks and a few groceries, may pay my electric bill or my propane bill but certainly not both..Just because I have an arm blown off, live with a colostomy bag attached to my side and shrapnel still in my stomach legs butt and back..have my backside been burnt with 2nd degree JP4 burns after the B-40 rocket found it’s way to the engine turbine..the pilot as valiant an effort as he could tried to land as soft as he could but it seem that the 51. cal round that went through the peter pilots leg into the pilots lung was hindering him a mite, but thank god for the peter pilot whose leg was almost severed and blood gushing out heroically took the controls after coming to for a brief minute brought our UH-1H helicopter down to a hard landing flipping it onto its side and the blades digging into the South Vietnamese soil throwing me and others like lifeless cartoon figures scattered all over the place..thank god a mayday call was put out as we had supporting gunships and fast movers over the area in minutes..looking up after gaining some semblance of consciousness all I could see was the helicopter blade dug about a foot into the soil missing my skull by about 6 inches..course that was all luck, but then again it could have been that fast urgent prayer to my lord and savior as we took that hit and going down..but I wasn’t fast enough with the prayer to save one of our own who took a round to the head spewing a tremendous amount of blood, bone and brains all over the cargo bay..a lot of people believe a person dies instantly with no body movement after taking a head shot but not this young man..no he flopped around there like a fish out of water..so I’ll take my check with my greedy one hand thank you.

I know someone who is friends with the guy who cuts the hair of an SSI recipient. Do I qualify for a $250 check too????
I think that what our president is doing is great he could be doing nothing so it is important for us all to be thankful for that 250$ or whatever you get plus it isn’t obamas job to provide for you its yours and with faith in your self and in god it will happen for you and if you don’t belive in the miracles god creates check ur pluse there’s a miracle right there .

Of course, I’m grateful, and can use any amount I get, but I just wonder how did they decide that AIG gets two hundred billion, GM gets eighty billion, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac get untold billions, Citi Group gets billions, etc, etc, and I get two hundred and fifty bucks! Who gets to decide all this? How did they decide it should be two hundred and fifty? I guess if you are a giant corporation you are important. If you are an individual American citizen you are worth two hundred and fifty buck … tops!

Also, instead of asking a whole bunch of questions of someone who is being nice enough to relay information, you all could try calling the SSA and asking them directly.

I was wondering if this is just for people that are on those type of benifits are the only people that can receive it? Why cant the people that work get it? That would not be right so I think that they need to figure something out about that expecially the people that have kids that they are trying to support.
well u know wat i will do with my 250 dollars is to feed my teens who always say he is hungry all the time. that will tell u that money isnt enough in my family. cause right now the cost food is expensive so tell me how thats helping me boost the economy.
I once knew a disabled veteran who lost his leg in Nam and he died. Can I apply to SSI for his check to feed his dogs so they don’t starve?

I for one would like to say thanks for any help given. I am totally deaf in my left ear, and partially deaf in my right. I am forever struggling to keep a hearing aid in my right ear just so I can half ass hear! Hearing aids are not cheap.$1500 just for one. No insurance will pay for it or even help. I also have severe chronic pain of the feet also. I have to wear special shoes. They are not cheap either. Think insurance pays for them. NOT! Twelve surgeries, and nine toes left to prove I have been through the ringer! $250 is little to what I need. But I will accept it graciously.
I think if all of you write your Senator’s and Congressmen the things you have written here it will help them understand more of the situations at hand. I have been writing mine at least once a month. If we all take back control of our country we will be heard more. We have to stop letting these high powered companies buy our Senator’s and Congressmen and get all the bills passed they want (which none help us) to get more money from the lower class community. Put your foot down (no pun intended to those who don’t have one) . And I for one respect and thank every man and woman that have served and died for our wonderful country!
I am a seventy year old female and have memories of WWII, Korea, Viet Nam, and all the rest. I thank God for all the men and women that served and are still serving our country here and abroad. They are the ones that deserve thanks from every man, woman and child that are alive because of those brave and courageous people. If anyone should be recieving a stimulas check it should be them. I know everyone on SS and SSI have a sad story to tell but so do all of our service man and woman. And just how many of them will recieve anything?
I agree all of the men and women that enlisted in our united arms services have gone above and beyond for our country and somehow they alway get shafted half of them will never even see the $250.00 check. Somehow someway the government will snatch it up. I am an accountant and i see too many vets come in my office and wind up having to pay the IRS and/or the State every tax season. I dont belive that is fair to them. they should get soo much more from our country then they do. I give all my respect to our Military Personnel. We must strive towards greater income equality. To achieve this in the United States we must first address CEO pay. Their pay is ridiculously high, but they are few in number, so once their pay is redistributed it will only add a few dollars each year to the rest of our incomes. Next we must address the income of federal and state employees. Those of us in the private sector receive Medicare at age 65 and full social security retirement at age 67. The typical government employee receives both their retirement medical benefit and pension at age 52 (15 years earlier than the rest of us). If we increase all government employee retirement dates to age 63 then we could use the savings to reduce the full retirement age of the private sector to age 63. A equal and fair society should provide equal retirement dates for all. So why is it that congress is giving federal retirees a $250 tax credit….meaning that they get to keep the entire $250……but private sector retirees are receiving a taxable addition to their SS checks……meaning that they may only take home $150 or so after taxes??

it is hard for alot us right now i am disabled and my husband is laid off taking care of 4 grandkids and my pets i have to scrimp couldnt afford propane this winter we used kerosine and lived in one room but spring is here and things will go on be thankful for any and all you recieve there are many blessings in this world look around you

We can all complain about things and our own situations. But we must remember one thing. If it was not for our creator, we would not be here at all. I believe we should all give thanks for the air we breath and the peace we have right now. Here’s a story told to me some time ago: ” I complained about having no shoes, until I met a man who no feet!” Also if we all put our problems into a hat and then picked one out. We would all more then likely take our own problems back. So be grateful for what you have, because there is always someone else out there that is worse off then you.

Please give me a break here…Obama has spent almost 1 trillion dollars of our children’s future taxes to give you a lousy $250. He has blessed the working class with a whooping 10$extra in their payroll check a week (woohoo now I can run out and buy that new car “sarcasm”) While he is feeding you nickels and dimes he is giving the banking industry and insurance companies BILLIONS of dollars..of our tax dollars ..Tax dollars we do not have …Tax Dollars your children and grand children and great grand children will be required to pay back. Dear Greedy, so sorry for your troubles. I don’t think you are greedy, I think you are hurting, wounded to the white meat. There is so much that this country owes you and other vets, sadly none of you have been righteously recognized and compensated. War is hell and unfortunately you and other vets along with their families and friends are enduring a hell that has no end. No amount of money can ever replace what you vets have lost. If I were president for a day I would do somethings to make your existence easier to bear. Continue to trust in God and know through Him there is a solution to all problems. God bless you my friend.

This site tells it all and yes Julie it looks like we will get the $250 thank god now i can fill my much needed scripts for my meds sometimes i go without becuse i dont have the money to pay for my meds each month kinda hard when your a diabetic with a bad heart and haveing alot of problems makeing all the bills at the end of the month sometimes were left with just enough for food and the basics and i thank god for even that its hard to be a senior on a limited income so for us the $250 will make things a bit easyer …
Life has always been tough for some people. I am 75. When I was in my 30’s I was left with a dependent parent and 2 small children and one on the way. There was no medicaid, food stamps, welfare or any other kind of give away. We lived in NJ. To keep warm in the winter I walked 5 miles to get five gallons of kerosene to keep from freezing overnight – every day. I was prenant with my 3rd child. I worked hard, took extra classes at a local college – did not get a big degree but kept us afloat until I remarried. When I retired at 62 I went to work part-time. I paid in SS every month but never received an extra nickel in my check because of it. I didn’t make enough per year I was told. We live on SS and the little retirement I receive from my job. After paying in life insurance for years my company went bankrupt. Can’t afford to be buried now. However, I am grateful for what I have. I am worried about our brave military men and women and what they will find when they come home. I am concerned about the debt this country is going to be in and I don’t like the government running everyone’s lives. We can all gripe but if we don’t fight it by giving our opinion to those who might help, then we will get what we deserve. Good luck to everyone and if you don’t like the USA you can always go somewhere else. All politicians make big promises. They may even mean them but rarely do they do half of what they promise. Everyone wants the American dream of a home, car and a better life for our kids. We wanted it all now and went into debt to get it – me included. Now we pay.
I Am Affected As Well Just , Scraping by , I am on SSDI SSI , I used to get 780 a month , Well Social Security gave us, A cost of living Raise , in Jan They Deducted that Amount from my SSI , I just got a Letter on Friday the 3rd of April from SSI saying they Were going to Take another 36$ out of my Check , Starting in May Because the State of CA Changed the Laws, So now I went From 780, Down to 710 Because of the Deductions From Both , That It Is So unfair that all these Companies Get Bail Outs , And I get 70$ Less a Month Now,, I worked for 24 Years Before I Became,, Disabled, I miss Working , I Had to give up my Car Because I could No Longer Afford the Payments, I Can;t Afford a Home , or a Apartment, I have to Live with a Very Good Friend who Took me in Because I would Have been Homeless, I want those Greedy CEOS to Enjoy Flying in Privet Jets , Eating In Fancy Restaurants And Having Lavish Lifestyles While the Rest O f Us Suffer . I wish Their Families,, Would Suffer And Try To Live On what We Get , I wish They Could Loose their Homes , And Cars And Their Families Could Suffer , And have to Live Like The Rest of Us , Not Knowing If You Can get your Meds that You Need Or Buy Food , Instead. They say Charity Begins at Home , BUT ONLY IF YOU ARE RICH And Get Billions Of Dollars , In Bailout Money That We Worked , And Paid Taxes On . 250.00 is a lot of money but, I losy my husband to cancer in 2001 at age 59 and no amount of money can bring him back. Yes I am greatful for any help the gov may give. I urge all of you out there to just be greatful for any help you may get. Widows pentions are not much for the loss, but life is what we make it. Just be thankful is all I can say. My dad was a soldier but a lucky one he survived ww2. Try and be thankful to God were even here!

I hear all the complaints of most of you on the this site. Really? If someone walked up to me on the street and handed me $250.00 I wouldn’t start b*tching. I wouldn’t say “What?! This is all you got?” I would take it as a Godsend. I too struggle with a disabled child. I’m not sure if we qualify. If you read the text on the SSI site and the actually act it makes no sence as far as children are concerned. Unless you are an ‘adult child’. I also wanted to say something to those who are struggling to fill meds. There are many programs provided by the manufactorers of the name brand drugs. “Lilly cares” is one of them if your drugs are made by Eli Lilly company. This is how I pay for my sons meds. It was such an easy process. We got the applications from the county mental health dept but it’s not just for those types of drugs. We filled out the forms and faxed them to the companies. About 3 weeks later we got cards in the mail (like a credit card). We can bring them to any pharmacy we want and it covers 100% of prescription costs. I hope you can find help with this.

Believe it or not this 250$ a person is only a very small drop in the bucket considering increases through the years on SSI have always been at a much much lower amount than for the working force and is well over due .thank you obama this will help me buy a car i have needed for a very long time but but couldnt swing with all the high bills over the winter!

Hell I think all of those children should get a check not just count the ssdi and social security children out. SSDI is a lot worse than SSI. I’ll gladly except my $250 in money it always helps…for those of you who are on disability perhaps you should find a differnt means of spending your money…I get $694 a month and manage to pay my bills and even have internet, its how you budget your money and whats more important to. I go without things and have had to adjust my bills and use every resource avalible to me which isn’t much. If you can’t pay for food loose your internet so you can eat, move into a smaller place like I did. Share cooking with a friend, wash your clothes in the sink, you purex instead of tide…buy chicken instead of steak, better yet hot dogs or ramen noodles. Just quit bitching and be thankful your getting the $250 instead of the rich getting it

I was wondering as a Disabled Veteran who recieves Benifits from the VA and SSDI will I be getting $500.00 or will I still just get the $250.00. Then one mre question I have 3 boys that because of my disability they recieved SSDI checks now will they be eligable! And if they are how does that work if they are minors and still living with my ex-wife!

alright, i am gonna give you some incredible insight on how badly people need this money. I have been waiting for this money since I’ve heard about it. My son And I just sat here for 3 wks. without natural gas service (heat and Hot water) I’m a disabled Vet 20% r. leg.And my Estranged husband works in juvenile corrections and weeps for the future, and doesn’t get paid more than $20,000 a year just to keep medical on his first daughter and us. and my washer and dryer croaked.The house we rent is over 100yrs. old and i can’t keep any of my american made cars running to get out of MI to get a decent job other than 12 hrs a wk. at the gas station a block away where i can’t even afford the gas i sell and get daily abuse from the customers like I own the refineries. I knowI am probably taking lot for granted and I know I am blessed,but they built this country on our backs, were’s the thanks. I wish I could afford some of the activities and things my only beautiful child patiently asks me for and I can barely feed him clothe him and love him everyday without myheart and spirit breaking.

My husband died a few years ago, and I suppose I could be bitter….and in a way, I am, but only because we went to the VA hoping to get medical care, so that my husband could quit his job and would have the insurance from VA. His was a great Marine, and I believed that he should have been accepted. He was refused. He wasn’t feeling well, but he continued to work for the health insurance. He died about a year later from cancer, after having heart surgery 10 months earlier. Now I watch his pension, our complete savings go down like water going down the drain. If the economy continues as it is, I have about 1 year and 9 months left before his pension will be completely gone. I welcome “anything” from the government!! The $250.00 is not a lot, but it’s more than I have now. Sure, I would have liked for it to have been more, but I’m grateful for getting any thing at all. Thank you President Obama.
I only get a total of $695 a month from Social Security and SSI. It is so hard to make it. Landlords do not rent to those with income this low, and living in subsidized housing is like living in a prison. I can’t tell you how bad it is to get much lower than some others on Social Security, but even at that I still would rather them keep it. I don’t want to hurt the general population with this stimulus check. I don’t need 250 anyway, because I thirst so much that this will be soaked up before I even open the check envelope.

Two years ago I was gainfully employed as a machinist earning over $60,000.00 a year. That life ended two years ago after a massive stroke. The hopsitals, doctor’s and drug companies bankrupted me. I had what I thought was an adequate health insurance policy from work, it wasn’t. I worked all my life and paid taxes and I am not looking for a handout but simply a helping hand. I know there are many out there worse than I and have families to take care of. Well, let’s see…I am I service-connected disabled vet rated at 30% compensation and have a defaulted student loan that was originally for just under $2000.00 (two thousand U.S. dollars) from back in the late ’80s. All thru the 90’s, after I defaulted, from about 1993 on, each tax year, the IRS withheld my income tax refund and “supposedly” applied it to said defaulted student loan.
Then, in 2003, when my wife finally got her social security disability started and got 2 yrs. of backpay, we get a letter from (guess who) The U.S. Dept of Education stating they want the “full amount” of the loan, plus interest, plus fees, which more than tripled the original amount of the loan.
I called the IRS and asked about why my income tax which was withheld during the ’90s wasn’t applied to the loan, and they said “We don’t keep records back that far.”
Anyway, to make a long story short, the Dept of Ed. says I still owe the full amount, (plus all the b.s interest and fees) so any money from the U.S. Gov like tax refunds, stimulus b.s. ect., to me goes to them (which is just another part OF the U.S. Gov..) so they just take my money, put it from one Dept. (Treasury) and send it to another (Education).
So, anyway..after all that B.S., I don’t believe anything the Gov. tells me any more…they can suck a big one and KEEP their money…AND blow on that 20 yr old student loan until the day I die!
soooo unfair why is it the only children receiving the check are the disabled ones???????????????
because compared to the other underprivileged children in this country, those are the only ones they can verify thru S.S. records I guess…maybe it would take too long, or be too much trouble to check food stamp records to let all the children on food stamps get some money too…but that’s our government, they’re thinking poor kids parents don’t vote…
As far as other kids getting it, their parents get a “credit” on their tax returns at the end of the year.
Maybe they’re thinking about the costs of putting poor kids on the list….hmm I dunno… but if they were thinking about the costs, then they shouldn’t even be doing this to begin with…
I retired from the State of Illinois Department of Human Services in December 2008. Am I eligible to receive the stimulus monies and if so when and not, why not.

I don’t know why just those that are on SSI are getting a check. What ahppened to the rest of us. Alest George W Bush sent us all a check. To Dan: People who work get a $300.00 tax credit on their tax returns. So if you’re working, and filing taxes, you’re get MORE than us Veterans are getting.
To Maurice: Only if you get Social Security, or SSI, or Railroad retirement benefits, or are a Veteran who has received V.A. Compensation or Pension since November of last year, those are the only ones getting the $250.00 checks. If you still work and file taxes, see note to Dan.
To Trevor: You don’t say where your disability check comes from, if it’s Social Security or SSI call their toll free number and check with them. If it’s from the V.A. you have to wait until July 10th before you can get any info.
As for those of you who owe student loans, I called the VA and (if you can believe them) they said that this time you would get the checks, and they wouldn’t be held for past student loans, and if you don’t receive your check by July 10, call the V.A. at 1-800-827-1000.

I’m service connected veteran, too. I’m still waiting for my “stimulus” check as of today (June 6) still haven’t received it. I get my usual VA payment direct deposit but nothing in my account so far. I received the letter from the VA stating if I don’t the money by June 10, give them a call. Like anything with the federal govt. they will probably wait until the night before June 10 to deposit any money. Remember fellow vets, “hurry up and wait” doesn’t end when you leave the service.

I get SSI. I got my first SSI direct deposit April 01, 2009.
I am still waiting on my ‘back pay’ from SSI that was to cover the time periods of about 10 or 11 months prior the the time that I got my first SSI check. That means that I became eligable to get SSI in March or April of 2008.
I still have not got my $250.00 as a direct deposit or check in the mail
yet, and today is June 15, 2009. I also have not got a letter of explanation as to why I have not got it or as to what it was put towards.

no $250.00 yet. I got the letter saying i’d be receiving it that came in May and said they would start in June sending it.

Count yourself lucky if your a Vet with a $250 check I’ve not even seen a letter saying I’ll be getting it yet it’s June 18th and I’ve been on VA Comp since 2004 and they have my current address however according to the treasury which cuts the checks for the VA if you have outstanding federal debts you won’t see a check
I called the local VA Admin. office in my state: Arizona this morning and this is what I was told about the VA 2009 Stimulas check. They started sending out the checks this week (June 15, 2009) and will continue until July 10, 2009. They checked the status of my check and it has yet to be sent. So if you want to know if your check has been sent yet or not, call the VA Amin. office in your state (it should be listed in your phone book) and ask them about your situation. Until the check arrives, just hurry up and wait.

VA Georgia this morning said the money would be started to be released 06-22 and run through 06-30. If you havent received it by 07-10 then the VA must be contacted. Pretty much word for word as the VA spokesperson said this this morning.

I just called the VA ( I am in WA) and was told that the money was going to start going out today through June 30, and of course if you dont receive it by July 10 etc etc….. I tried to find out if they had any idea about what order it was going out but they didn’t now. Mine wasnt in the system yet though

the number is 1-800-827-1000, just ask them if anything has been processed under your social, and you really know that they are checking it for you when they ask what branch you served.
I called the number and asked, they said for veterans it would be between 6/22 and the 30th. I am a 60% disabled navy vet with the last two 95, haven’t got mine yet. I bet it will be issued in the next few days, just like the last stimulus payment. (seems to be just like the last one) I am struggling as well, this money will buy gas to get my boyfriend to his minimum wage job for the rest of the month! We are grateful after 8 mos of no work he was able to find anything! Also we have two kids 7 and 9 years old.
It appears to be the last two when I called. Since I am 99, it shouldn’t be later than the 30th. The person I spoke with was 65 and she hadn’t gotten hers yet. but it’s supposed to happen tomorrow.
My last two digits are 21 and as of today (Wed) no direct deposit. Knowing the govt it is probably the total of the last 4 digits divided by year of the award times the percentage!!

00-49 were processed between the 15th and 17 of June and deposited/checks cut 22-24th..
50-99 will be processed on the 30th and deposited probably on the 7th of July (of course). Its coming….

To be eligible for the $250 payment, VA beneficiaries must have received compensation, pension, dependency and indemnity compensation (DIC), or spina bifida benefits at any time between November 2008 and January 2009. Also, beneficiaries must reside within the United States or Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. No application is necessary. VA will use its existing payment records to determine eligibility for the $250 payment.

If you live some where other than continental US or some territories you will not get check. I did not find out till towards the last when it was finally pasted on web pages. Check at top of this page if you live else where. It tells where you have to live. I live in Philippines now and do not get one even though I got check last year. I am on military disability payments myself.

Knew about the tax rebate via the 2009 stimulus plan, but just now reading about the one time $250 check. Looks like federal civilian and military retirees were left out. Is this true? And if so a bit of a slap in the face. Way to go congress.
It is now October 20, 2009 and I still have not received my stimulus payment of $250.00. I have been called several times and told that it was at the” payment center”. If it has been at the payment center since June, why have I not received it? I am entitled and I am tired of waiting on money that I should have received before the last of May. Five (5) months of waiting is unacceptable. Please see what you can find out for me.
I have to admit that I am very upset that we will not be receiving any SS raises for the next two years. Meanwhile, rents will continue to raise. So will food, gas, etc. And more and more people are going to be just living from check to check. I realize times are tough but we also need and have to survive. That’s why I can’t understand why we’re only probably going to receive $250. And please don’t mis-understand me because every little bit helps but, a check of something like $1500 would be more sensible. There’s also those people whose medications are eating up their monthly checks. We’re hardly eating because Food is so expensive. We need help because two years to us is going to feel like 20 years. Please rethink your amount decision. Thank You.

I have heard or received nothing. Although I am still low income, I have to pay back S.S. @ 50.00 a month for two years and I can barely make it. My question, are they going to take my check although arrangments have been made to take it out of my check, because that is what they did with the $99.00 they shorted me for the year. Won’t count as income. I wish it did, because what Obama ur Mama didn’t tell everyone, is that if you use the Schedule M for your tax return – you essentially have to pay the stimulus money back to the government….. What a rip off.
