About Four Pillars
Favourite investment book: Four Pillars of Investing – William Bernstein
I’ve had an interest in finance for at least 15 years, however starting in Fall of 2006, I started gaining a huge interest in personal finance. I think having a fairly sizable mortgage along with not getting any younger, motivated me to try to take stock (no pun intended) of my financial situation particularly with respect to retirement.
During the process of assessing our retirement portfolio, retirement contributions, debt repayments, retirement lifestyle etc, I’ve learned about a lot of new things and the financial blog community has been one of the best sources of information for me.

Hey Mike,
Thanks for the comments on my site. I have added you to my blogroll – any possibility of me being added to yours?
DG – shouldn’t be a problem. I have you on my reader so I should have already added you to my blogroll anyways.
Mike
Hi Four Pillars, same question – I’m adding some blogs to my blog roll and just wondering if you would look over my site to see if you would be interested in adding it on yours.
Preet
WDAMMG – sure, same reason.

Mike, I saw your comment on programming for the same company for 10 years over at lazy man and money. How do you manage to make sure you are getting paid what you’re worth?
So are the four pillars you seek the same as the ones in the book Four Pillars of Investing? I’ve always wondered that. (It’s one of my favorite books as well.)
Hi Jonathan – yes, they are the one and the same!

Hi Mike,
I really like your blog. I am new to the Canadian blog community and I am excited to have found another Canadian financial blog. Hopefully I can learn from you and your other Canadian blogging friends – do you recommend any good reads?
Just started blogging a few months ago and love your website!
I too have had an interest in finance and investing but always thought I’d just ‘leave the investing to someone else’ when it came to looking at my own portfolio.
The internet and blogs like yours provide so much useful information that there’s really no excuse anymore to not do anything.
Thanks!
Thanks Tom – I’ll check out your site.
Hi Four pillar,
Can I get an email address to reach you on.
Thanks
Monica
